If you have always been a wanna-be theme tweaker like myself, I’m sure you’ve heard of Wpdesigner’s 5-dollar theme club, which he started so that some of his premium-quality themes may be available readily to his subscribers. For 5 dollars, you get a whole year of Small Potato’s premium themes, and benefit from his extensive efforts to improve in his craft as a designer. So, do the math. One-time payment of 5 dollars for at least 12 premium themes to be available to you? Just fair enough or is it a steal?

Small Potato is famous for his ‘free premium themes’; designs so perfectly coded that people will pay for them… but they’re free! I’ve experimented with other themes in the past. However, when the last of my experiments broke as soon as I upgraded to the latest WP version, I figured it’s time to finally settle down with my favorite Small Potato theme. Something functional and pretty, so that I won’t have to worry about it going all weird on me.

Setting this club up is obviously to his subscribers’ benefit. Is he really a philanthropist designer? Hmm, I think that with this club, he is reiterating his point to the Paid Themes market. To quote:

If you can?t already tell by the price, I?m not trying to start another boring club to make fast money. So what am I doing exactly? I?m shaking up the paid themes market and proving something here. You don?t always get what you pay for. Once in a while, if you?re lucky, you get something better.
