When I heard that Ayen* and Ian* are getting close, I thought “this should be interesting”. Both of them are Pisces, see, and theoretically, making this union work is hard to near impossible. See my guides for personality traits of a Pisces Guy and a Pisces Girl.
Ayen works as a manager at a call center, while Ian is an artist. They started out as friends who got pushed into alone-times by other friends who want to see them develop as a couple. They soon became confidantes of each other and became very open in terms of feelings and dreams. They took the “when’s the wedding” questions in stride with jibes and taunts of their own.
I think trouble commenced when Ian forgot to inform Ayen ahead of time that he’s attending an exhibit opening on Ayen’s day off, but it could also be the fact that Ayen made plans for them on her own and took it for granted that Ian would be free that day. What resulted after hours of embittered SMS exchanges was a heart-to-heart talk that got out of hand.
The mush that makes up the Pisces personality came out in rivers and had both of them floundering to control the outbursts. Issues of time, support, inspiration and just plain consideration floated up. Ayen took it that Ian did not like her work schedule, and Ian took it that Ayen did not consider his “artsy” charity involvements worth it. They made up after a while, but the fight left a crack of doubt and faith in each other. Neither of them clarified things by talking it out when they were both level headed, as both avoided the “why did we fight” topic like the plague from then on.
Soon, their talks became strained and more infrequent, both using the age-old excuse of “we’re just busy” to reassure their concerned friends. They would not, even to themselves, admit that they have broken up. Finally, one or both of them decided to meet at a beach and just try to save the relationship. They had a very romantic date and watched the sunset together, listening to the sound of the waves and just holding hands. They made love in the water. For a while, it seemed like it’s going somewhere, but upon returning home, Ayen and Ian made no effort to contact the other.
They attended common friends’ affairs and did not explain to their friends the real score between them (perhaps because they themselves have no idea), and the others prudently stopped asking questions. Sometimes, they’d look at each other for more than a second and would seem to go for a kiss, but the magical moment would be over and they’d just smile at each other.

The Pisces personality looks at the world through a pink-tinged window. Idealism will always be at the core of the Pisces, regardless of how well he/she tries to hide it. This personality needs to be inspired constantly, and like the proverbial fish, will slip away unnoticed when the water becomes too uncomfortable to live in. Slippery like eels, they cannot be tied down to something if the consequences or hardships are too much to bear. It takes a really grounded person to bait a Pisces and keep him/her interested and coming back for more.
