I Am My Own Blog Model: The 5-Minute Branding Experiment
woobie on March 24th, 2008Inspiration hit me last week while I was commuting home from the office. You see, traffic in the Philippines during rush hour is horrible. It takes 30 minutes for the vehicle to go from one stoplight to the next, during which an ordinary jeepney passenger who didn’t bring a book could daydream while listening to music and then discreetly analyze the clothing of his fellow passengers. Or, am I the only one who does that?
For the five minutes or less that a bored yuppie looks me up and down, maybe I can introduce my blog to him or her somewhat through my clothing. Even within my circle of friends, only a few really stay on the net for more than one hour. These are the casual internet users who surf when they want to find something or email someone. If i can find a way to make them type my blog’s URL on the browser or search box later on, I’d get one reader who probably will come back if my blog interests him enough.
Blego (blogger’s ego) shirts came to mind. How will an Evil Woobie t-shirt look like? I need something to reflect my blog’s personality, with a slogan that will make the viewer think. This was my first idea:
Of course the slogan reiterates the theme of my blog, which if you notice is mostly about struggling with relationship quirks, heartbreak issues and finding a comfortable spot in which sublime love and carnal attraction meet, but will it really provoke the viewer? If I could elicit a snort or a barely concealed “yeah-right” or even a laugh, won’t my brand burning be more effective? This next shirt concept just floated out of nowhere….

Nice shirt design, it could pass the taste of some addicted online shopper?s lol! I have read some bloggers who buy anything online even they don’t need one.
Your shirt looks so neat though. I would love to try designing my own but I am not good in that craft.

I need to create graphics that suits me or my blog first I guess and for that I have to kneel down in front of my friends who’s into designing, of course I would love to wear ME while walking to downtown.

Oh Woobie! You are such an artist! I love your designs! Now, you’ve got to have that printed and give them away (at first, I guess for promotion) then I’m sure in no time they will sell like hot pancakes and shoot your alexa and all your other rankings racket high (not that you need it) your rankings are doing great as it is.
Sis, you would have to forgive the delay of that blog post. Health crisis. Recently just got back from the hospital and am still going back for follow ups every so often — I still can’t sit down on it. Don’t forfeit the prize, pretty please!?!
